The Minister of Health, Dr. Galya Kondeva, participated today in the operation of the team involved in the construction of the children’s hospital in Burgas and was impressed by the progress of the construction and the accompanying activities on this project, which is significant for the entire South-Eastern region.

The news was announced on Facebook by the mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, who accompanied her.

“The slab on the first floor of the building has already been poured, work is currently underway on the second floor. The plan is to pour the next slab on the corresponding floor every 20 days, so that by the middle of next year the building will be ready. The floor is also being built parking lot next door,” wrote Nikolov.

The mayor informed that the team is working on the specifications and supplies of the high-tech equipment, as well as on the program for attracting highly qualified personnel.

“To our delight, the interest from specialists is a fact!”, commented Nikolov.

Minister Kondeva arrived today in Burgas to speed up the process of building the Blood Center, which is so expected by all of us. A temporary executive director has already been appointed, 9 more specialists will be appointed by the end of the year, and another 50 in the next year. Construction will begin as soon as possible, the ministry assured me.

The project for the Blood Center was prepared by the Municipality of Burgas, and will be implemented under the control of the Ministry of Health.
The new blood center will be located next to UMBAL Burgas, St. Anastasia Children’s Hospital and the helipad approved by the Ministry of Transport in the same area.

“Dr. Kondeva and I also talked about support for the future faculty of pharmacy. The documents for its accreditation have already been submitted and I hope that in the next academic year we will welcome the first intake of students in Burgas. There are no shortage of challenges, but we are progressing step by step I thank the state and all the institutions for their support! The political situation is uncertain, but it is a fact that when it comes to such important projects, I find the necessary support!” Nikolov wrote on his Facebook page.
