Scots (bw). The next blood donation appointment of the German Red Cross (DRK) in Schotten will take place on Friday, February 3, from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Festhalle. This is reported by the DRK mountain rescue team in Scotland. With a blood donation that lasts only ten minutes and takes about 45 to 60 minutes including preparation and follow-up, up to three lives can be saved, the DRK explains in a press release.

Every lifesaver is currently needed. In Hesse and Baden-Württemberg alone, more than 2,700 units of blood are needed every day to ensure uninterrupted supply to hospitals. Since the canned goods only have a short shelf life, the DRK urgently asks you to donate blood. Especially at the beginning of a new year, inventories would run out. “Hospitals are ramping up operations and at the same time many donors are unable to donate blood due to vacation or illness,” emphasizes Eberhard Weck, press spokesman for the DRK blood donation service in Baden-Württemberg-Hessen. Those willing to donate should therefore register at www.blutspende.de in the coming days. Further information is also available on the website. They can also be requested free of charge on 08 00/11 94 911.
