Member Secretary of Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) Mojibur Rahman Manju said that thousands of disappearances, murders, false cases, indiscriminate oppression and torture have happened in 16 years. Various institutions have been occupied. Administration has been made an arena of exploitation and corruption by blatant partisanship. Millions of people have been forced to leave their professions and businesses. A fair investigation and trial must be ensured in every incident.
He said these words in the public gathering in memory of the students who were killed and persecuted in the popular uprising at Vijay-71 square adjacent to AB Party’s central office on Thursday (August 15) afternoon.
Mojibur Rahman Manju said, people could not vote for years. Millions of people had to migrate from their homes. Countless people have lost their homes unjustly. Each incident must be judged. The people should understand that no one can get through injustice and torture, one day they have to be caught by the mob.
AB party’s publicity secretary Anwar Sadat Tutul and joint convener Professor Dr. Major (retd) Abdul Wahab Miner presided over the rally and the party’s joint convener Advocate Tajul Islam, BM Nazmul Haque, joint member secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, Abdullah Al Mamun Rana, senior member of the central committee Lt Col (retd) Didarul Alam, Lt Col (Retd.) Major Miner said, we have been campaigning for years. The students of the country brought down the dictatorship with their blood. Martyrs and wounded should not be forgotten in the joy of victory. We have to continue our struggle until the dreams of those who gave their lives to build a discrimination-free Bangladesh become a reality.
Advocate Tajul Islam said that the legal advisor spoke about Hasina’s trial in the Anti-Humanity Tribunal. We want to thank him and say that there is a lot of controversy about this tribunal. End that debate first. Amend the law. Hire an experienced prosecution team. Start the trial process by appointing quality judges and investigative agencies. No trial can be done by the team appointed by Hasina.
Barrister Fuad said Raja Laxman Sen left the royal court and fled through the back door. Sheikh Hasina showed that history anew. Now all his accomplices are absconding. Students across the country are awake today. Sheikh Hasina and her associates will be brought under fair trial for the fair Bangladesh that we have dreamed of. We will not do any unfair trial like Hasina. Everyone will be given their due.
