Colombo: Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has called on the people to end their protests against the government in the wake of the financial crisis. He added that his government was constantly trying to overcome the crisis and that the country was losing more and more every moment the protests continued.
Struggles are by no means helpful when it comes to thinking of steps to solve problems and moving forward with it. Mahinda Rajapaksa urges the people to stand up in times of crisis as dollars are lost every moment of protest.
Mahinda Rajapaksa’s move to appease the people comes as protests against the resignation of the Prime Minister and his brother and President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa continue.
Opposition parties are still in talks to form a new government, with even allies leaving. At the same time, Sri Lanka expects $ 3 billion in aid for the supply of essential commodities in the country.
