The Russian-appointed governor of Kherson county, Vladimir Szaldo, gave an interview from Novaya Kahovka town hall. The video is mostly interesting because Szaldo, who slightly draws his words, says on it that

“Everything is fine in Novaya Kahovka, people are going about their business as usual.

While behind him you can see that the main square is actually standing in water.

Saldo anyway interesting figure. Originally from Ukraine, he was the mayor of Kherson between 2002 and 2012, and after the Russian invasion, he immediately applied for a Russian passport and was appointed governor. Between the two events, however, he had a yoga drum manufacturing company in the Czech Republic and was also involved in a strange kidnapping case in the Dominican Republic, for which he was arrested.
