Thursday afternoon, the player was shopping with his wife and son in a hypermarket in Assago, on the outskirts of Milan (North) when a man visibly suffering from psychiatric disorders attacked several people with a knife, killing an employee and injuring the player and four other seriously affected people.
The attacker, a 46-year-old Italian, was arrested.
In a tweet posted on Thursday evening, the Arsenal club sent their thoughts to the player and other victims, adding: “We spoke with Pablo’s agent who told us he is in hospital and not seriously hurt.”
