Oviedo yesterday presented the earliest subscriber campaign in recent years. Starting this Monday, Oviedistas can now renew their season ticket online. Almost two months before the start of the League, a milestone since promotion. Although the significant novelty of the new release, sensitive to fans, is the rise in the price of subscriptions, which had been practically frozen for some time. The cards will be 25% more expensive this summer, although if fans renew them in the first phase, the so-called “pre-campaign”, the impact will be less: 15%. That first phase is already active and will last until July 10. From that date, the fertilizers will have the aforementioned increase of 25%.

Yesterday they already renewed 1,502 subscribers, a record for the first day, according to the club’s data.

The prices by area can be consulted in the graph that accompanies this information. However, it must be taken into account that there are members who will have other types of discounts for loyalty –after ten years as members– and for having obtained the full card in the covid season. The club, in fact, made an effort to give several specific examples in which it may even be the case that a member now pays less than in the last season prior to the campaign.

Specific cases aside, it is a fact that going to the Tartiere will cost more after this season. In round figures: for the first time the most expensive blue season ticket exceeds 400 euros, 488 taking into account the 25% increase. Oviedo, which managed this decision ahead of time and has already notified the supporters clubs and various Oviedo groups, aware that it could generate controversy, made an effort yesterday to justify this measure in the first season-ticket campaign managed by Pachuca.

Martín Peláez, president of Oviedo and Jesús Martínez’s strong man, explained the reason for this increase and on several occasions repeated one word: empathy. The club’s position, roughly speaking, is that there was no choice but to raise prices and that the increase has been even less than appropriate. “Even so, the campaign had to be more aggressive, but we wanted to be empathetic,” said Martín Peláez, accompanied by Javier Álvarez, head of digital development at Oviedo. The blue president also said that the rise in prices has a conjunctural factor, with an economic environment of generalized inflation. “The cost of living has gone up a lot, everything goes up,” he stressed. The economic moment is not the best and that is why we put a price that is not so high”, assured Peláez, who said he was working on “different strategies” to try to improve attendance at the Tartiere. The eternal enigma: there are about 6,000 members who do not go to the field.

The campaign, with the motto “with everything, first and foremost”, is already underway and another of the objectives it seeks is to promote the online format, in order to avoid queues and crowds. There are several key dates that fans should keep in mind. The face-to-face renewal begins on June 26 at the Tartiere offices, although the online renewal will continue to be available. The new registrations, in any case, will begin online from July 12 and in person on the 17th, coinciding with the start of the second phase, with the 25% increase. Gold and silver season ticket holders and people with some type of disability “will have a preferential queue enabled to carry out the renewal procedures,” the club explained.

There is a key date: August 8 will be when the seats are released, including those fans who did not renew except for gold and silver season ticket holders, that is, those who have been faithful to the entity for 50 and 25 years. In addition, Oviedo has placed emphasis on providing facilities to members who choose to renew online. There are two phones to help subscribers. One via WhatsApp (659 488 827) and another by call (985 250 556). In addition, those registered subscribers will receive a message that will redirect them to where they must renew.

On the other hand, the club gives the option of purchasing the new season shirt in “pre-sale” to those who renew before July 10.

The Oviedo season ticket, as usual, includes all the League matches at the Tartiere, those of the youth academy and those of the Femenino. The club reserves the right to cash in a Cup tie if it is against a First Division team or against Sporting (always in the cup tournament).
