The Savelovsky District Court of Moscow issued a guilty verdict against the former municipal deputy of the Timiryazevsky District, Yulia Galyamina, under an article on repeated violation of the rules for holding an unauthorized rally. On Saturday, March 5, the opposition politician was sentenced to 30 days of administrative arrest for an opposition activist, lawyer Maria Eismont told Interfax.

She noted that this is the maximum penalty under this article. The place of serving the sentence is still unknown.

Yulia Galyamina was detained the day before in Moscow. The Airport Department of Internal Affairs drew up a protocol against her under Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“Repeated violation of the rules for conducting an unapproved action”). According to the human rights project “OVD-Info”, since February 24 – the day the war in Ukraine began – 8283 participants in anti-war actions have been detained in Russia.
