O Chelsea won for the second time in its pre-season this Saturday. Against Brighton, their opponents in the English Championship, the London club debuted in the Premier League Summer Series with a 4-3 victory, on the comeback. At Lincoln Financial Field, in the city of Philadelphia (USA), Nkunku, Mudryk, Gallagher and Nicolas Jackson scored the winning goals. The Premier League Summer Series is a pre-season tournament featuring clubs from the English top flight only. This year, from his debut, Chelsea, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Brighton, Fulham and Brentford are in contention. Each club will play three games, the one with the most points will be the champion.

Brighton opened the scoring in the 12th minute when, after a cross into the area, the ball was propped up for Welbeck to send into the free-kick. Chelsea tied at 18, with Nkunku. The attacker took advantage of Chukwuemeka’s blocked kick and deflected towards the goal.
The turn came only in the second stage, at 18 minutes, when Brighton had one player less, as a result of the expulsion of defender Jan Paul van Hecke. Mudryk paired with Nicolas Jackson on the edge of the area and dropped a bomb in the left corner. At 27 minutes, the ball was alive in the area for Conor Gallagher to hit it from close range and make it 3 to 1.
Chelsea extended the advantage at 31, with Nicolas Jackson. The attacker received the back of the opposing defense and touched the top left corner as the goalkeeper left. Brighton went down at 33. João Pedro, a youngster formed by Fluminense, was knocked down inside the area and suffered a penalty. He himself went to collect. With a firm hit on the right, he made the score 4-2. In the final stretch, at 44 minutes, the number 9 stood out again and, after a beautiful dribble from the left, served for Undav to score.
Chelsea return to the field on Wednesday to face Newcastle, while Brighton takes on Bretford on the same day.
