Ex-gospel, Priscilla Alcântara sings at Carnival alongside Ivete

by time news

The singer Priscilla Alcântara, who abandoned her gospel career to dedicate herself to the secular environment, had her first participation in the biggest popular party in the world, Carnival, alongside Ivete Sangalo. Her performance was in Salvador, Bahia.

Ivete invited Pri Alcântara, as the ex-gospel is also called, to sing with her in the electric trio. On the occasion, the actor José Loreto, who plays Lui Lorenzo in the soap opera “Vai na Fé”, from Rede Globo, was also present.

The former SBT children’s presenter sang the song “Eva” and said she was happy with her participation. In an interview for the UOL portal, she had already revealed that she didn’t like Carnival, but that now she “loves” the party that among most evangelicals is repudiated, among other reasons, for promoting promiscuity and drug abuse.

“Before, I didn’t like it. Now, I love it”, said Priscilla Alcântara. “I was introduced to Carnival by the best people: Sabrina Sato and Ivete Sangalo, the queens of Carnival. How not to like carnival now? And I love party, dancing, music. This is the joy we experience and feel at Carnival.”

On the occasion, the ex-gospel also defended the holding of Carnival, remembering the context of a pandemic, saying that “we deserve to like it”. In addition to her participation in Salvador, the singer said that she should perform in Rio de Janeiro.

“I will be in the trio with Veveta and during all Carnival days in Salvador. I must go to Rio too, because it’s a really fun time. We have suffered so much in recent years, we deserve to like it, right?”, she said.

secularism

After leaving her gospel career, Priscilla Alcântara has been accumulating controversy because of her increasingly liberal positions and contrary to historical biblical Christianity, for example, in defense of the LGBT+ agenda, when she criticized singer Bruna Karla and defended the importance of the Gay Parade.

“It’s very sad, it’s rotten, it’s wrong on many levels”, said Pri Alcântara when criticizing Bruna, after she said she wouldn’t sing at a “gay wedding” party, even if it was at the request of a friend.

“I was very sincere and said: Oh, when you marry a beautiful woman and full of the power of God, I will. […] The day I agree to sing at a wedding with another man, I can stop singing about the Bible and about Jesus”, said Bruna. Check out:
