Mapelli’s response to Invitalia’s lawyer was quick: “With regard to my position as a director of JSW Italia and its subsidiaries, I inform you that this steel company does not operate in the flat products sector (coils and sheets) nor of tubes but transforms only semi-finished steel products for rails, wire rod and bars (long products). Since therefore it is in no way a competitor of Acciaierie d’Italia (not even in terms of raw material acquisition, because there is no is no integrated cycle steel plant) my assignment is not incompatible and I have no intention of giving it up “.
