Kathmandu: Sandeep Lamichhan, former captain of the Nepal cricket team and ex-IPL player, has been arrested in the case of calling a fan to a hotel room and torturing him. The 22-year-old, who was abroad, was arrested when he returned to the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

There were reports that the star could not be found after the case was filed. However, in a note shared on Facebook last week, the actor stated that he will return to the country on October 6 and face the case legally. The star’s response was that he would fight legally to prove his innocence.

The 17-year-old complained that the actor molested her in a hotel room in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur last August. The abused girl was a big fan of the actor. Lamichane currently plays for Jamaica Tallahassee in the Caribbean Premier League. He is the first Nepali player to play in the Indian Premier League. Played for Delhi Capitals in 2018 season.
