New York: Former US President Donald Trump has exercised his right to refuse to answer in a case of alleged fraud including tax evasion in his business.
Former US President Donald Trump is involved in many businesses including real estate. There was a complaint against him that he took important documents with him when he left office. In connection with this, the FBI recently raided his bungalow in the state of Florida.
In this case, Donald Trump and his company have been sued in the New York State Court for engaging in many irregularities including tax evasion in business. New York State Attorney General Letitia James is investigating in this regard. Donald Trump has been ‘summoned’ to present his arguments in this case.
Accordingly, Donald Trump went to the Attorney General’s office. After that he said in a statement: The right to refuse to answer in cases is given under the fifth section of the constitution. I have asked many times why use this law if you are innocent. The answer is now available.
With a vindictive government, a one-sided media, and a pro-government judiciary, there is no other way. Therefore, I have refused to answer using the fifth section of the law.
