Former German international Max Meyer is leaving the Turkish football club Fenerbahce Istanbul and moving to FC Luzern in Switzerland.

Fenerbahce announced that the contract had been terminated by mutual consent. For its part, the Swiss club announced that the midfielder had signed a contract until June 30, 2024.

Meyer had already played on loan at Danish top club FC Midtjylland until the end of the season. The 26-year-old was once considered a great talent at FC Schalke 04, but after moving to Crystal Palace in the summer of 2018 he did not make the breakthrough in England. (dpa)
