After leaving power, Alberto Fernández and Fabiola Yáñez went to live in Spain with their son, Francisco. However, they separated and the former president returned to Argentina.

Fabiola Yáñez, former first lady, denounced Alberto Fernández for gender violence and harassment, For this reason, the Argentine justice system has ordered the former president not to approach his ex-partner or to leave the country.

Argentina’s La Nación contacted Fernandez, who dismissed Yanez’s accusations, saying he will release a public statement, making it clear that “It’s all false. But I will prove everything before the courts.”

Alberto Fernández later elaborated on his remarks and stated that “the truth of the facts is different. I will only say that it is false and that what you are now accusing me of never happened.”

“For the safety of my children, myself and Fabiola herself, I will not make any media statements, but will provide evidence and testimony to the courts that will show what really happened,” he added.

Yáñez appeared for the second time, via Zoom, with federal judge Julián Ercolini, after he found messages in the chats of Fernández’s former private secretary that reported possible evidence of physical violence.
