A wood check from €50 to €200: 2.6 million beneficiaries

Resulting from an amendment by the Socialists, voted on Friday by the Assembly as part of the 2022 amending budget, the “wood check” is intended to fight against inflation in the prices of wood and pellets since the beginning of the year. .

It will be paid subject to means testing. According to Gabriel Attal, French people who heat themselves with wood and whose income does not exceed €2,260 for a single person, and up to €4,750 for a couple with two children. That is 2.6 million households in total.

According to Bercy, the aid will also depend on the heating mode used: those who heat themselves with pellets will be entitled to €200 of aid if they are among the most modest households, and €100 for income levels. a little higher. As for those who heat themselves with logs, the aid will be €100 for the most modest. And 50 € for the others.

A new energy check of €100 or €200: 12 million beneficiaries

Every year, at the end of winter, the government pays an energy check to the most modest households. In April 2022, some 5.8 million households were thus able to benefit from this check for an amount of between €48 and €277, depending on household income and composition. Usable for one year, this aid can be used to pay energy bills, but also certain expenses related to housing or energy renovation work.

This year, due to the energy crisis, the government has decided to provide new exceptional aid, increasing the allocation criteria. For all people already benefiting from the energy check for 2022 (up to €10,800 of taxable income per consumption unit), they will receive a check for €200, which will be automatically paid from the end of December, without the need for payment. take any action.

For other households whose reference tax income is between €10,800 and €17,400, they will receive a check for €100. Again, no action will be necessary. In total, 12 million households should benefit from this exceptional energy check, or 40% of households.

A fuel energy voucher of €100 or €200: 1.6 million beneficiaries

Households heating with fuel oil will also be able to benefit from a boost, depending on their resources: those whose tax income is less than €10,800 (per consumption unit) will receive a check for €200, and those whose income is between €10,800 and €20,000 will receive a check for €100.

For these households, the check can be combined with the energy check. People who have used their last check from a domestic fuel seller will not have any specific steps to take.
