Clashes in Tulkarm Refugee Camp: Arrested Man Not the Target of Operation

Tulkarm Refugee Camp, West Bank – In a daring operation carried out by the YMS forces and Golani patrol, violence erupted as exchanges of fire took place in the Tulkarm refugee camp. The operation was initially aimed at making a wanted arrest, but the detained individual turned out not to be the intended target.

During the operation, the forces opened fire at a man who attempted to flee from a house, resulting in his arrest and subsequent injuries. Additionally, a gun was discovered near the original target, adding further intrigue to the situation.

New details have emerged regarding the operation, shedding light on the intensity of the clash. A grenade was thrown at a terrorist, but fate took an unexpected turn when it bounced back towards the fighters. The incident led to five military police soldiers sustaining injuries, with three of them in serious condition.

The notorious terrorist organization Hamas claimed that two Palestinian militants present during the operation were killed. A spokesperson for the group stated that “last night’s clashes confirm that the entire West Bank will continue to fight,” encouraging further acts of terrorism in the future. A member of Hamas’ political bureau also issued a warning to Israel, stating that they would “pay the price” for their actions.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident near Avni Hefetz in Samaria, IDF forces took action against two terrorists who had carried out a shooting attack. A Golani patrol, which had participated in the Tulkarm operation, joined forces with seven additional soldiers to neutralize the threat. The joint effort came in response to an earlier shooting targeting a civilian traveling from Einav to Avni Hefetz.

Upon receiving a description of the offending vehicle from the victim, the IDF swiftly established roadblocks to locate the shooters. Thanks to the accurate identification of the terrorists’ vehicle by the Golani patrol, the forces intercepted the car and swiftly intervened.

The terrorists attempted to evade capture but were successfully eliminated by one of the vigilant fighters. The IDF believes their intention was to carry out another shooting attack. In addition to preventing the immediate threat, the soldiers also averted potential future attacks inspired by the terrorists, highlighting the pivotal role played by the Golani patrol.

According to the IDF, the soldiers not only prevented an attack with stones but also thwarted other potential acts of terrorism that may have been incited by the assailants had they not been neutralized.
