Exchanges on the application of the memorandum of understanding of January 23, 2023

The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Mr. Ouhoumoudou Mahamadou, met yesterday morning in his Cabinet, a delegation from the Democratic Confederation of Workers of Niger (CDTN) led by its Secretary General, Mr. Idrissa Djibrilla. According to the union official, the meeting made it possible to discuss the implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties on January 23, 2023.

“To this end, we reviewed the various points of agreement, we informed of the difficulties that we noticed and made our recommendations within the framework of the implementation of the memorandum of understanding”, confided Idrissa Djibrilla. He welcomed the response given by the Prime Minister to the concerns of the trade union confederation, concerns which revolve around the compensation scheme for State employees, the payment of the financial implications linked to advancements, reclassifications and salary reminders and the enactment of a retirement law.

“We think that in view of this meeting, things will move better more because, it must be said, in the context of the application of the memorandum of understanding, efforts have been made on both sides. and this meeting will give more impetus so that the various other points are better applied in a short time”, indicated the Secretary General of the CDTN, Mr. Idrissa Djibrilla.
