NoExcise officer Abdul Basit is notable for imitating the voice of Tan Suresh Gopi. Basit’s videos went viral on social media. But after that, a section came out criticizing him. It was alleged that Basit’s was a mimicry and the real voice had nothing to do with Suresh Gopi’s style. Now he himself has come to the scene to answer the criticism.
Basit said that he is not a person who lives in the voice of Suresh Gopi all his life. He says that he is imitating Suresh Gopi’s voice for the good of the society. In a video shared on social media, Abdul Basit says that he imitates the star in order to reach more people and should not misinterpret it.

It was said that the modulation of voice in my classes was similar to that of Suresh Gopi sir. A video like this has come in front of you in the context of many discussions regarding it. Suresh Gopi Sir’s modulation of his voice while taking classes on the evils of alcoholism has been seen to reach more people. I get a lot of similarities with his voice when he says some emotional stuff. Other than that I am not one to live my whole life by his voice. In such awareness classes and stage performances, I imitate the voice only for the good of the society.
