On the weekend before the school year begins, the “augusteum” in the former Augustinian church of Korneuburg offers a top-notch family program. The program “Rucki Zucki” allows for an exciting musical experience together. With the “Science Busters,” you can learn everything about fun science, and there’s also the animated film “Despicable Me 4” showing in Korneuburg’s cinema.

The former church and monastery will undergo renovations and restorations in the coming years: the “augusteum” will serve as a new venue for various events. This year, before the renovation begins, the baroque ambiance can be enjoyed at different concerts – or as a cinema with a large screen.

The free tickets – a maximum of six tickets per person – can be picked up as counting cards at the Sparkasse Korneuburg, as seating is limited. This program is made possible through a collaboration between the owner of the new K4 area along with the associated “augusteum” and the municipal community of Korneuburg.

Those who haven’t seen the Austrian film “Andrea leaves her husband” with Josef Hader yet can catch it at the cinema day at the “augusteum” on September 1 at 6 PM. The tickets can be booked online at www.augusteum.at (pre-sale 5 Euros) or purchased at the box office (6 Euros). For more information about the events, visit www.augusteum.at.

The Program:

August 29 at 4 PM “Rucki Zucki: 1,2,3 … and go!” (free)

August 29 at 5 PM “Science Busters for Kids” (free)

September 1 at 4 PM Cinema Day: “Despicable Me 4” (free)

September 1 at 6 PM Cinema Day: “Andrea leaves her husband”

Opening hours of Sparkasse Korneuburg for the free counting cards:

Mon-Wed 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Thu 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Fri 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM

The film “Andrea leaves her husband” with Birgit Minichmayr and Josef Hader will be shown on September 21 at the Augusteum.

Exciting Cultural Transformations Await in Korneuburg’s Augusteum

The upcoming renovations at Korneuburg’s historic Augusteum not only promise to enhance the architectural beauty of the former Augustinian church but also indicate a shift towards a multifaceted cultural hub. As families prepare for the new school year, the venue kicks off its final events before the transformative changes begin, showcasing a dynamic blend of music, science, and cinema.

During the weekend preceding the school starting date, the Augusteum invites families to engage in various enriching activities, such as the musical program “Rucki Zucki” and interactive sessions with the “Science Busters.” This fusion of entertainment and education reflects a growing trend of venues prioritizing family-oriented programming that combines fun with learning, satisfying a societal desire for quality family time amidst a hectic modern lifestyle.

Future trends suggest that the Augusteum will likely solidify its role as a community cornerstone, where diverse events cater not only to children but also to adults. The scheduled screening of films like “Andrea Lässt Sich Scheiden”, featuring renowned Austrian actor Josef Hader, is a testament to the venue’s commitment to fostering a love for cinema. This positions the Augusteum to become a popular destination for cultural gatherings and cinematic experiences in the region.

As renovations commence, tracking how the programming adapts to changing audience needs will be crucial. The collaborative efforts between local authorities and the new owners indicate an understanding of community engagement’s importance. This integration may manifest in various formats, from educational workshops to live performances, potentially drawing larger crowds and enhancing the local economy.

With the Augusteum’s transformation on the horizon, residents and visitors can anticipate an exciting evolution in the way cultural events are embraced in Korneuburg, making it a vibrant center for arts and community enrichment.
