As every week, today you get to enjoy a new performance of that’s it To one of the Israeli classics. This time it is the song “Autumn Wind” sung by Arik Lavie, and written by Amos Keinan.
How was a song born?
Amos Keinan became famous throughout his years as a Lehi man, as a political activist for peace, as a journalist, writer and playwright, but Keinan was also a prominent songwriter who wrote some of the most beautiful songs of the 1960s and 1970s.
One of these songs was the song “Autumn Song”, composed by Yochanan Zarai, and Arik Lavi recorded for his album “Song is not just words” released in 1974. The song gained another aura not only thanks to the winning connection between words, melody and performance, but also thanks to guitar solo Yitzhak Klepter, who was then at the beginning of his career, who brought Israeli music to new districts where it had not been before.
Tonight, Thursday, members of “This Is It” will perform the song “Autumn Wind” as part of the program that will be broadcast immediately after the “Tonight News” edition on Here 11.
In about two weeks, on Thursday, March 24, the members of “This is It” will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Israeli Academy Awards, which will also be broadcast here 11.
