The teams from A Coruña and its metropolitan area have ahead of them a preseason week in which friendlies and the start of the initial competition mix.
As for those in the Segunda Federación, it happens that they will face each other. On the morning of Saturday the third, Fabril and Bergantiños will meet in Abegondo (11:30 AM). There will be no commitments beforehand for Jorge Cuesta’s team, but there will be for Óscar Gilsanz’s team, which will play against Lugo at a neutral venue, A Magdalena (Vilalba).
The week will be somewhat more intense for the Tercera teams as they begin the regional phase of the Copa Federación, a tournament through which, after a long journey, they can obtain a spot in the Copa del Rey.
The first clash will not take long to come, between Arteixo and Silva in Ponte dos Brozos (Wednesday at 8:00 PM). Both approach the match as part of the preparatory period, but a victory and advancing to the next round would be a boost to morale.
For its part, Betanzos will play on Sunday, initially at 8:00 PM, against Sarriana, a team that played in the promotion playoffs last season. They will also do it away, which will be a good test to see how Álex Suárez’s team is performing.
Two days before the cup match, García Hermanos’ team will play its first friendly of the preseason against Galicia Mugardos, at 7:30 PM on Friday.
The approach is different for Silva, which will play its weekly friendly after competing in the Copa Federación. It will be on Friday (8:00 PM) against Paiosaco, which debuts on the match list for the Futgal Preferente teams.
Half an hour later, at 8:30 PM, Arteixo will kick off their match, which will be somewhat similar with a clash in Vilaboa against Olímpico.
Preparing for the Supercopa
In Preferente, San Tirso begins its preseason, a team that has an exciting August ahead. Each preparatory match is focused on the Supercopa Galicia, where they will seek to earn a spot in the Copa del Rey starting in mid-month.
To start, a friendly this Friday at 8:30 PM in O Monte against Oza Juvenil, a team recently promoted to the Primera Autonómica.
Another Preferente team that will play its first preparatory match is Órdenes, facing Once Caballeros as visitors at 8:00 PM on Friday, the day on which most of the matches will take place.
The preseasons for Sofán and Montañeros will also begin, but both Pablo Torreira and Jairo Arias have decided not to schedule any friendlies for this week. However, the players of the Coruña team will play a ‘friendly’ match among themselves on Friday.
