The opening of the exhibition “Naxçıvan Fotolarda” (Nakhchivan in photographs) took place at the International Mugham Center in Baku, Day.Az reported on Monday with reference to Trend.
The exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, the newspaper “Şərq qapısı”, with the support of the plenipotentiary representation of the President of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The exhibition included more than 60 photographs reflecting the rich nature of the ancient region – Nakhchivan, its centuries-old history and unique monuments. The authors are photographers from the newspaper “Şərq qapısı”.
The event was attended by Azerbaijani Minister of Culture Adil Karimli, prominent public figures, famous representatives of science, culture, and art. The memory of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who gave their lives in the name of the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was honored with a minute of silence, and the national anthem was played.
Speaking at the event, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Fuad Najafly noted that in accordance with the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on holding the 100th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, various events are being held in the country and abroad.
“Events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic are being held in our country, as well as abroad. It is gratifying that these events are of great interest to the public,” Najafli said.
Fuad Najafly spoke about the economic development, social programs, and public life of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Sharing his impressions of the exhibition, the President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), academician Isa Habibbeyli called it a significant cultural event.
The guests toured the exhibition, a concert program was presented, during which mugham was performed.
