Exit controls: Man in Upper Austria 17 years without a driver’s license

by time news

The corona exit controls are not that pointless: In Allerheiligen im Mühlkreis (Perg district), the authorities carried out a random exit control, namely a 50-year-old vehicle driver who had apparently been on the road for 17 years without a driver’s license. As the state police department of Upper Austria announced on Friday, the hold took place on Wednesday on Naarntal Straße (L-572).

The man was prevented from continuing his journey

With the support of two army soldiers, police officers checked vehicles there that were heading towards Bad Zell. At 5:55 p.m., the car that was being driven by the 50-year-old was stopped. The man from the Perg district could neither show authorization to cross the district boundary nor did he have any ID with him. He said he left his wallet with his driver’s license on the company bus. However, a driver’s license query was negative, as “withdrawn” appeared in the register. The driver was then prohibited from continuing the journey.

Surveys showed that the driver’s license had already been withdrawn in 2004. This means that he has driven vehicles for 17 years without a valid driving license.
