Seoul, January 18, 2026 – K-pop titans EXO are officially back with their eighth full-length studio album, REVERXE, dropping january 19, 2026, at 6 p.m.KST. This marks the group’s first collective release since EXIST in July 2023, and fans are already buzzing about the evolution of sound and the shifting lineup.

A Bold New Chapter for EXO

REVERXE, a clever twist on “reverse,” promises a nine-track journey across diverse genres. The title track, “Crown,” is a particularly intriguing offering, boldly blending atlanta trap drums, heavy metal guitar riffs, and shimmering EDM synthesizers-a sonic cocktail that’s already generating significant anticipation.

What kind of message does EXO want to send with their return? Lyrically, “Crown” frames a cherished person as a coveted treasure, fueling a fierce determination to protect them at all costs. It’s a message that feels both confident and deeply earnest, reflecting the group’s long-awaited comeback.

Beyond “Crown,” the album features previously released winter ballad “I’m Home,” which arrived on December 14, 2025. Fans also got a taste of “Back It Up” – a high-energy dance track unveiled at the 2025 Melon Music Awards on December 20. The MMA performance of “Back It Up” featured a striking visual element: 40 dancers joining the group on stage, underscoring the song’s theme of overcoming adversity and reaching new heights.

Rounding out the tracklist are “Moonlight Shadows,” “Crazy,” and “Suffocate,” though details remain under wraps until the album’s release.

A Lineup of Six

REVERXE will feature performances from six members: Suho, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, and Lay. Lay’s inclusion is particularly noteworthy, as it represents his first major group activity since 2018, having focused on projects in China in recent years.

Though, the comeback is proceeding without Chen, baekhyun, and Xiumin-known collectively as EXO-CBX-who are currently involved in a legal dispute with SM Entertainment regarding revenue sharing and contract transparency. The company cited a “breakdown of trust” as the reason for their exclusion, though the specifics of the dispute remain complex.

despite the changes, the six participating members have expressed unwavering commitment to delivering a powerful return. During their December 14 fan meeting,”EXO’verse,” held at Inspire Arena, they assured fans: “We will continue to return to you with even better versions of ourselves. We’ll work hard to fill 2026 with EXO.”

The Comeback Showcase & Promotional Blitz

EXO will host a comeback showcase on January 19 at 7:30 p.m. KST at kyung Hee University’s Peace Hall in Seoul’s Dongdaemun-gu district. This will be their first in-person event with fans in over two years, offering a chance to experience the tracks from REVERXE live and hear behind-the-scenes stories about the album’s creation.

The promotional campaign kicked off with a cinematic trailer released on December 8, 2025, depicting members being drawn back to the “tree of Life” -a recurring motif within EXO’s established universe storyline.
