An expert reveals how Saint John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis confronted the devil in the Church, endorsing exorcisms and fighting evil.
“Fr. Gabriele Amorth already denounced that in the Church, in the 1980s, there were many bishops who did not believe in exorcisms or in the devil. John Paul II, but also Benedict XVI and Francis, supported this ministry of liberation through their speeches against the action of the evil one”, explains the journalist Fabio Marchese Ragona, author of the book exorcists against satan (Exorcists against Satan).
In his homilies, Pope Francis has often mentioned that “the devil enters through pockets”, referring to the power of corruption. In this sense, Marchese Ragona, in dialogue with ACI Prensa, recalls his meeting with the Pope for the preparation of the book: “Never talk to the devil, because he will win you over,” warned the Holy Father. “He makes you believe that everything is good, that you are going to succeed, and then he catches you, you fall into the abyss and then it is difficult to get back up,” reconstructs the expert.
