Kuwait City: Ministry of Education to evacuate 1,800 expatriate teachers. Termination of service of expatriate teachers on the basis of receiving the services of Kuwaiti nationals in the subjects taught. Expatriate teachers from the fields of Islamic education, social studies, computer, art education and music have suffered. The public education sector in the ministry has given names to the administration to take necessary steps.
Sources in the Ministry of Education said that discussions will be held with various departments regarding the indigenization of teaching. Implement termination of services procedure to reduce the number of foreign staff in the Ministry of Education. Matters such as fixing the schedule for informing the employees of the decisions regarding this and further actions will be discussed. The service of the currently working teachers will be terminated as per the instructions of the Kuwait Civil Service Bureau. Sources in the Ministry of Education also stated that the Civil Service Bureau had suggested three years ago to implement the policy of excluding foreigners and replacing them with natives.
