Expatriate youth is about to try European model farming in Chorimanal. Kanjikuzhi 17 – – Amward Pujarat PV Shaiju started integrated farming. Shaiju, who is a nurse in Britain, entered the field of agriculture after coming back six months ago.
Minister P Prasad inaugurated mixed farming which included vegetable farming, paddy farming and fish farming. Shaiju is following in the footsteps of her mother Sasikala, who is a great farmer in Kanjikuzhi. Greenery with flowers and vegetables is a distinct sight.
Shaiju, who is also an artiste, danced in the presence of the minister and won applause. Vegetables from onions to coriander leaves were planted. Wife Deepa and son Ishaan are on the scene with encouragement.
Shaiju returns only after harvesting the two-and-a-half-acre integrated organic farm. Panchayat President Geeta Karthikeyan, Vice President M Santhosh Kumar and others spoke.
