Brielle – On June 13 at 4.30 pm, Catharina will open the new experience garden at the Catharina Gasthuis at home on Voorne. The experience garden is completely tailored to people with dementia. The starting point is the senses: seeing, hearing, smelling and feeling different things stimulate or relax people with dementia.
Different paths offer the opportunity to walk around and always offer a new experience, even during the different seasons. The experience garden was made possible by a bequest from the Alderman Kester-De Kievitfonds. Catharina is very grateful that this can offer more quality of life to people with dementia. Being outside and moving is very important for the elderly, even in their final phase of life.
A memorial gazebo will also be opened for Monica and Anton van Hulst on this day. They lost their lives on April 21, 2020 due to a fatal accident. Monica worked for Catharina for 20 years.
After the opening of the experience garden, there is an opportunity to say goodbye to Hans Biezemans, director. After working for Catharina for five years, Hans starts a new challenge.
