Youtuber and film critic Unni’s video ‘Karikinin Jati’ has become a hot topic on social media. Unni spoke about caste in Karik’s content on his YouTube channel called Unni Vlogs. There was widespread criticism against this video. Unni is responding to the controversy again.
Unni said that he is a person who has experienced caste discrimination and hence he knows how it works. Unni’s remarks came in an interview Karthika gave to DoolNews.
‘I was not completely criticizing Karik. Note down the few words they say. Because I have faced a lot about how caste discrimination works. I can tell when I see someone stop and talk to someone.
A person who is talking to everyone standing in a group with his hand on the shoulder, only comes and kicks us. It is done in a friendly manner. But not to anyone else. There is only one thing that sets me apart from the rest. Will check as it affects me.
I watch a video like everyone else. It is consumed with the intention of enjoying it. But when you see something, it seems that this is not the program. Maybe that’s not what they meant, but that’s how it came out. Or purposefully so.
The creators of Karik’s video should understand that there is caste in it and not do it when they make a video tomorrow.
