International public expert from Armenia Rafael Hunanyan on Sunday, September 19, positively assessed the system of remote electronic voting (DEG) in the elections to the State Duma, proposing a complete transition to such a format.

“We need to make sure that the next elections are only online. This way everyone will be able to have time to participate in the elections even from home, ”he told REN TV.

In addition, Hunanyan noted that he would take over for Armenia the experience of Russia in using complexes for processing ballots (KOIBs).

Earlier that day, political scientist Marat Bashirov predicted wider use of the DEG system in the future. He also suggested that due to its convenience, the system will be used in most regions of the Russian Federation in the next electoral cycle.

In turn, the head of the department of regional programs of the EISS Daria Kislitsyna pointed out that the DEG system for the elections to the State Duma is a key innovation, and added that it is convenient, technological and safe.

In 2021, elections to the State Duma are held for the first time in a new, three-day format. September 19 is the main voting day, and September 17 and 18 are optional. In seven regions of the country, you can vote both online and in person at a polling station.

Simultaneously with the elections to the State Duma, on a single voting day, direct elections are to be held for the heads of nine Russian constituent entities (in three more regions, deputies of the Legislative Assembly will elect the highest administrative persons) and 39 regional parliaments. The possibility of electronic voting is provided to residents of Moscow, Murmansk, Kursk, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov and Yaroslavl regions, as well as Sevastopol.

The “Million Prizes” drawing takes place among all online voting participants in the capital. The received points, each of which is equivalent to 1 ruble, can be spent on the purchase of goods and services from program partners. Those who voted in the DEG receive an SMS with a code that must be activated on the website ag-vmeste.ru. In addition to money certificates, 100 cars and 21 apartments will be raffled off.

On September 18, after the drawing, 10 winners of the #ChooseAlong campaign “Million Prizes” were announced. Each of the announced winners received a one-room apartment in Moscow.

On September 19, it became known that the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, as well as the head of the Public Headquarters for observing the elections in the capital, Alexei Venediktov, won 10 thousand points each, which is equivalent to 10 thousand rubles, it became known earlier that day. Both decided to donate their prize to charity.
