The Geriatric Health Centers of the City of Graz (GGZ) are a competence center for geriatric medicine and care. They are divided into three areas:

• hospital
• nursing homes and day centers
• assisted living arrangements for the elderly

Inpatient, partially inpatient and outpatient care is offered, which can extend over short periods or even several years. In addition to geriatric clinical services in internal medicine and neurology, the geriatric health centers have further specialized in order to cover patient needs with regard to dementia treatment, coma treatment, palliative and hospice care.
