Expert suggests fountain for Salzburg’s most famous poet Georg Trakl on Waagplatz

The unadorned Waagplatz in Salzburg’s old town is to be redesigned. A connoisseur of Georg Trakl wants to see the poet immortalized there.

After Residenzplatz and Kajetanerplatz, the city is now redesigning Waagplatz and Mozartplatz. Before the architectural competition starts for the two squares in the heart of the old town, the population is invited to submit ideas by the end of March. Construction work on Waagplatz is scheduled to begin in 2024.
