Over 90 countries voted in the UN in favor of a resolution against the Israeli sanctions against the Palestinians.
The organization expresses “deep concern about the Israeli punitive measures against the Palestinians”, when, among other things, the government’s decision to deduct approximately 40 million dollars from the Israeli funds for the Authority is mentioned.

According to the wording of the request, the Palestinians essentially ask the court to determine that the “Israeli occupation” is not temporary as stipulated in Resolution 242 of the Security Council – that is, it should be ended by negotiations based on a territory formula for peace – but permanent, and one that has become an annexation of – Facto. The court may also recommend to the UN how to behave towards Israel, whether through operative measures, imposing sanctions or a boycott.

Ambassador Gilad Erdan strongly condemns the UN vote, saying that “the Palestinians are taking advantage of the distorted mechanism of the UN to use political terrorism and try to harm Israel. This is a meaningless declarative statement and every country that signed it only added fuel to the fire of incitement and terrorism of the Palestinians, and removed any chance of reconciliation.”
