(Amant Gushkuri) Secretary Chief Justice of Pakistan issued an explanatory statement on Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa’s informal conversation with journalists.

The statement issued by the Secretary of the Chief Justice of Pakistan has said that the off-the-record conversation with Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa was reported in a wrong way. Asked about the extension, the Chief Justice replied that several months ago, the Law Minister had come to the chamber for a meeting. Not accepted, Attorney General and Justice Mansoor Ali Shah were also present in the meeting with the Chief Justice.

In this declaration, it is also said that the Law Minister mentioned the status of the Parliamentary Committee in the appointment of judges. It is the discretion of the Parliament, the Chief Justice said, that the opposition members should not be left out in the new proposed body for the appointment of judges.

It is further said that the Law Minister never had a private meeting with the Chief Justice of Pakistan. The journalist also questioned about Rana Sanaullah’s statement. The Chief Justice said that he did not meet Rana Sanaullah nor his statement. It is known that the Chief Justice said that if there is any question related to them, it should be asked to the concerned person. The Chief Justice was also asked about increasing the number of judges. The Chief Justice’s answer was that the vacancies should be filled first.
