Exploratory talks: Laschet’s “team of the future” is already history – domestic politics

by time news

Basically only CDU veteran Wolfgang Schäuble (79) is missing to complete the negotiating team of Union Chancellor candidate Armin Laschet (60) …

The mission is “future alliance”!

Ten CDU top politicians are to forge a Jamaica coalition with the FDP and the Greens. Except for party vice Silvia Breher (48), nobody from Laschet’s “future team” is negotiating, which he conjured out of his hat at the end of the election campaign.

Vice-Vice President Friedrich Merz (65), neither climate expert Wiebke Winter (25) nor terrorist Peter R. Neumann (46).

“Experts instead of experiments” was Laschet’s motto.

Instead of the new experts, however, the Union parliamentary group leader Ralph Brinkhaus (53), the Hessian Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (69), Federal Agriculture Minister Julia Klöckner (48) and Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (41) will negotiate.

This is not only astonishing in the “future team”, as BILD found out.

Even at the top of the Bundestag faction, they are far from satisfied with the selection of the ten-person negotiating team. “Four weeks ago, Armin Laschet presented a competence team for the federal election, they are now as if swallowed by the earth”, one of the group leaders told BILD.

Above all, however, the top CDU politician goes against the grain that the team consists only of negotiators “who pushed the Chancellor candidate Laschet through against the will of the grassroots.”

The fact is: It was Bouffier and Schäuble who prevented the candidacy of CSU boss Markus Söder (54) and pushed Laschet through. Party vice Klöckner had also campaigned for her party boss. Jens Spahn was even part of Laschet’s team until the end.

Personnel upheaval: Nothing!

The hard-hitting prognosis of the member of the parliamentary group: “The majority of negotiators will no longer play a role in the CDU in two years.”
