The inauguration of the Madonna di Pagaret Path is scheduled for Saturday, August 3, an itinerary for trekking to discover the Marian cult in the Valle del Salto and Turano. The appointment is set for 9:30 AM in front of the church of Madonna della Neve in Vallecupola. Expected attendees include Father Zaccaria, Rosella Bianchi, and Maria Grazia Di Mario (promoters), Stefano Spagnoli (Deputy Mayor of Rocca Sinibalda), Giuliano Picchi, president of the Agrarian University of Vallecupola, the local craftsman Ugo Lucarelli, who created the wooden signposts already placed in front of the church, at the Biblioteca Casa Museo (information point of the Path), and in the locality of Forca. Among the guests will be researcher Ileana Tozzi, who is deepening the history of the Marian site and identifying an itinerary highlighting the dressed Madonnas of Sabina, and Angelo Di Mario for the Biblioteca. At 10:00 AM, the ribbon-cutting will take place at Fonte Crocetta, while at 10:30 AM, a free excursion will begin; upon arrival, a mass will be presided over by Fr. Zaccaria. The return is scheduled for 1:30 PM, followed by a visit to the Biblioteca Casa Museo and the village at 3:30 PM.
Starting Saturday, what has been a path “traveled by both locals and hikers” and an itinerary of “a local religious tradition” in Vallecupola (a small village in the Province of Rieti and part of the Municipality of Rocca Sinibalda, near Varco Sabino and Lake Salto) – is explained in a statement – “is transformed into a proper walking route.” “In this first phase – it is announced – the route includes the village and all its points of interest, with the ambition to connect with other significant Marian and faith-related cults in the Salto and Turano territories and beyond.” Promoters include Rosella Bianchi, minority group leader in the Municipality of Rocca Sinibalda, and Maria Grazia Di Mario, director of the Biblioteca Casa Museo Angelo Di Mario. “The initiative – it is specified – was born with the approval of the Episcopal Curia, Bishop Vito Piccinonna, and the parish of Rocca Sinibalda, thanks to Father Zaccaria’s collaboration. Partners are the Municipality of Rocca Sinibalda and the Agrarian University of Vallecupola for an ambitious project that needs to be shared in organization and planning with the already participating partners and other realities present in the village.”
