The new documentary “The Motive of the Menendez Murderers” re-examines the s spectacular murder case from 1989 and the trials that took place over 30 years later, featuring Lyle Menendez (original audio recording from prison), as well as Menendez’s lawyer Mark Geragos, prosecutor Pamela Bozanich, and host Rosie O’Donnell.
This is the case of the Menendez brothers
Two brothers who cold-bloodedly murdered their parents – such an incomprehensible act occurred in 1989 in Beverly Hills: Lyle and Erik Menendez shot their parents, José and Kitty, disposed of their firearms on Mulholland Drive, and attempted to create an alibi by going to the movies. “Somebody killed my parents!” was the emergency call Lyle made after returning from the cinema. However, investigators uncovered the brothers’ plan to inherit millions. They were arrested in the spring of 1990, and a sensational trial began. It was not until 1996, after a second trial, that the brothers were found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment without parole.
