Explosive noises heard in a residential locality of Hässleholm

On Saturday evening at approximately 10pm, the police responded to a report of loud bangs in Hässleholm. Upon arrival, they discovered a damaged parked car and cordoned off the surrounding area. The national bomb disposal unit is investigating whether the car is linked to other explosions reported in the vicinity. Witnesses are being interviewed and nearby cameras are being reviewed. At around 10pm on Saturday evening, the police received an alert that loud bangs had been heard in Hässleholm and when the patrol arrived at the scene there was a parked car with damage.

– We cordoned off the area around the car because the national bomb disposal unit is about to investigate whether it can be connected to explosions that were heard in the area, says Filip Annas, press spokesperson at the police in the South region.

The police are still at the scene to interview witnesses and check any cameras in the area.

According to the emergency services, no one was injured in connection with the explosion.
