Police and inspectors who responded to the incident and arrived in the area, located during the searches a suspicious vehicle with a 24-year-old city resident, and after a search of his vehicle, seized dozens of fireworks nests, a “hive” of fireworks and a fist.

The suspect was detained for questioning at the station, at the end of which he was released under restrictive conditions.

“We are approaching the holiday of Purim and the activity against the use and possession of explosives and fireworks that are prohibited by law, will intensify in the coming days,” the Ashdod police note. “Both to the user and to the public, and we intend to take serious action against anyone caught violating the law.”
