Expo 2020: Expo 2020; The Indian pavilion was visited by over six lakh people

Dubai: The number of visitors to the India Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai has crossed six lakh. The Indian pavilion received 83 visitors 83 days after the expo, which started on October 1.

Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal shared the news on Twitter. Indian Ambassador to the UAE Sanjay Sudhir said that India has one of the most visited and celebrated pavilions at the Expo.

The pavilion, which integrates India’s heritage and progress, also offers a platform for investment opportunities. The pavilion, which is divided into two parts, will focus on 11 themes. Various themes include climate and biodiversity, space, urban and rural development, tolerance and inclusion, the Golden Jubilee, knowledge and learning, health, food, agriculture and livelihoods, and water. Another highlight of the pavilion is the ‘Indian Innovation Hub’ featuring India-focused IT and startups.

Passengers from four countries are barred from entering the UAE

Abu Dhabi: The UAE has imposed an entry ban on travelers from four African countries. The UAE has banned travelers from Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Nigeria.

Transit travelers who have visited these countries for the past 14 days are also banned. Meanwhile, flights from the UAE to these countries will continue to operate as scheduled. The decision was taken by the National Emergency Management Authority in consultation with the General Civil Aviation Authority. The decision will take effect on Saturday, December 25 from 7.30pm, the National Disaster Management Authority said. This brings to 11 the number of African countries that have been barred from entering the UAE. The UAE had earlier banned flights from South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Swatini, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Mozambique in the wake of Omikron.
