Angry local residents vandalized the property on Thursday evening by filling the front of the shop with eggs and ketchup. She also posted footage on Facebook, which has since been deleted, happily celebrating the Queen’s death, causing huge outrage among locals who attacked Ms Pickett for disrespecting the late Queen.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The officers received a report of damage to property which is suspected to have happened between 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 9, and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022. Inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances.” Police Scotland were also called to the store on Thursday evening after angry residents smashed the windows with eggs.

Videos shared on social media showed residents surrounding the restaurant on Thursday evening, where owner Ms Pickett was seen driving out of the area under police escort as locals booed her for her brazen Facebook post. Ms Pickett’s membership of the British National Fisheries Federation has been revoked.

A statement from the federation said: “We have become aware of the social media posts published by one of our members, they are in very bad taste and completely against all the values ​​that our organization and industry hold dear. We have discussed this and made the decision to cancel the membership of this business owner, and we will write to them and ask from them to remove all their associations from social media and their websites concerning us.”
