Extension of budget session till Saturday and white paper on economic status: New Delhi news

New Delhi: The budget session has been extended by one more day till Saturday (Feb 10), Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prakalat Joshi said.

Government sources said that on that day, the central government will submit a white paper on the economic status of the country before and after the year 2014 when the BJP came to power.

The budget session of Parliament started on 31st. As it is the first session of the current year, President Draupadi Murmu addressed the joint meeting of both houses on the first day of the session.

Subsequently, on the 2nd day, February 1, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Central Interim Budget in Parliament.

While the budget session was announced to end on Friday (Feb. 9), it has been extended by one more day till Saturday.

Earlier, speaking in the budget speech, Nirmala Sitharaman said, ‘Overcoming the economic crises of the past, the economy has been firmly established on the path of high growth with all phases of development.

So, where are we now since 2014 when BJP came to power? It is now relevant to test that Moreover, the central government will issue a white paper to learn from the mismanagement of the previous Congress regime,’ he said.

Generally, on weekends, Parliament does not function. In the past few years, Parliament has also functioned on Saturdays for certain sessions. Accordingly, the 17th Lok Sabha ends with the budget session ending on Saturday.
