It was just before 1:00 p.m. that the emergency services were alerted that a villa had started to burn in Ellös and that there was heavy smoke.

– We now have five rescue units on site from Ellös and Henån, as well as rescue leaders. We have just gone in with smoke divers, says Simon Willner, officer on duty at the rescue service at Orust.

No one should be in the house, according to the alarm that came in.

After 2:00 p.m., the extinguishing work was basically finished, and now the rescue service is left to air out the building.

– A room on the upper floor has received extensive fire damage, but the room was closed so the fire had self-extinguished due to lack of oxygen. And there is extensive soot and smoke damage in the house, says Simon Willner.

The fire is believed to have started in an element, the police write on their website.
