The official news portal of Bordány, bordany.com, reported on the recent extraordinary meeting of the representative body of the large village. Mayor Gábor Tanác called the representatives together to discuss five items on the agenda. First, a proposal related to an award was discussed in a closed meeting: a Memorial Medal was donated to Bordány Kösségért. As we reported in our newspaper, the representative body awarded the recognition to priest Zoltán Janes in the civil category. As we wrote, the vicar was transferred by László Kiss-Rigó, the bishop of the Diocese of Szeged-Csanád. Father Zoltán performed parish duties in Bordány and Zákányszék.
In the second item on the agenda, a purchase offer received for a property in the outskirts was discussed, and then it was accepted in view of the state of the budget. This gives the municipality eleven and a half million forints, which partially solves its liquidity problems.
The municipality successfully applied for the construction of a nursery school. Another important phase of the tender program can begin with the public procurement procedure entitled “Development of nursery education”, which was also decided at this meeting. The public procurement procedure for the Bordány-Zákányszék bicycle path can also start, and the representatives gave the green signal to this as well.
Tender decisions were also needed in the fifth item on the agenda, in connection with the project called “Development of Social Infrastructure in Bordány”, the representatives decided to send out bidders. Thanks to the tender, equipment purchases, building renovations, and the purchase of a new vehicle for the support service can take place. For this, the board also undertook 15 percent of its own resources. According to the plans, the next meeting will take place on the last Thursday of August in the hall of the village hall.
