The organization of the extraordinary elections in Chicomuselo, Pantheló and Captain Luis Ángel Vidal, in Chiapasdepends on the security conditions of the area, said the councilor Dania Paola Ravel.
In an interview with the media, the councillor said that there is no possibility of the elections being organised in another municipality.

According to the president of the Commission for Liaison with Local Electoral Public Bodies, “if there are no security conditions for these works to be carried out, for the elections to be held, then they simply will not be able to be carried out, just as they will not be carried out in the ordinary electoral process.”
On June 2, these electoral processes were suspended due to violence.

The General Council approved that the extraordinary election of members of the municipal councils of Capitán Luis Ángel Vidal, Chicomuselo and Pantelhó, Chiapas, be held on August 25.
