Extreme Heat Wave to Hit Country, Temperatures to Soar up to 47 Degrees

After a brief respite from the scorching sun, a heavy and extreme heat wave is set to hit the country starting Saturday. The ‘Metau Tech’ company has forecasted that temperatures in some parts of the country will reach a staggering 47 degrees, raising concerns for the well-being of the public.

Friday’s weather is expected to remain partly cloudy to clear with no significant change in temperatures. However, this will soon change as the heat wave intensifies over the weekend.

Saturday’s forecast predicts clear to partly cloudy skies, with a significant increase in temperatures especially in the mountainous regions and the interior of the country. Scorching conditions will develop, making it difficult for residents in these areas to bear the heat. Along the coast, steamy conditions are expected. The overall heat loads are expected to significantly increase, with heavy to extreme heat prevailing in most regions of the country. Furthermore, northerly winds are expected to strengthen along the coast from noon onwards.

Meteo Tech company has indicated that temperatures in the mountains are expected to range between 38-40 degrees. In the areas surrounding the Kinneret, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and the Arabah, temperatures are likely to soar to 45-47 degrees. On the coastal plain, temperatures are forecasted to be around 32-33 degrees, accompanied by high humidity.

Sunday will mark the peak of the heat wave, with heavy to extreme heat loads predicted throughout the country. Additionally, light rain showers are possible in the afternoon, potentially accompanied by single thunderstorms. This rainfall may provide some relief to residents, but caution is still advised given the intense heat.

Even though the heat wave is expected to weaken slightly on Monday, a heavy to extreme heat load will still prevail in most parts of the country. It is crucial for individuals to take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses and stay hydrated throughout this period.

Authorities are urging the public to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and adhere to any alerts or advisories issued. It is important to limit outdoor activities and seek shade or air-conditioned areas whenever possible.
