Victory for Lando Norris. On Sunday, the British from McLaren won the second Grand Prix of his career in Zandvoort (Netherlands). On May 5, he finished in first place at the Miami GP. The only driver to go below 1′10″ during qualifying, Norris starts on pole this Sunday thanks to a four-tenths lead over Max Verstappen and his teammate Oscar Piastri.

However, at the start, Norris lost his pass, leaving Max Verstappen to take control of the race in the first corner. For his part, George Russell stunned Oscar Piastri to temporarily take third place. Shortly after not letting go, Norris then regained his first place at the expense of the Dutchman, during the first period of the 18th stage. Restricted by tire problems, Verstappen was unable to compete with McLaren’s DRS.

During the rest of the race, Norris did not tremble – as was the case in the past – and calmly managed his lead around twenty seconds. Overall, he is 7 points behind Verstappen and 71 points behind the Dutchman, with 9 races remaining. Third in the race, Monegasque Charles Leclerc was successful in his race despite sixth place on the grid. The Ferrari driver beat Sergio Pérez (Red Bull), George Russell (Mercedes) and Oscar Piastri (McLaren).

On the French side, Pierre Gasly finished in ninth place, one place better than where he was on the grid. Esteban Ocon, disappointed by the lack of performance of his car in qualifying, finished in 15th place.

The next Grand Prix will take place next Sunday, September 1st in Monza (Italy).
