FAJAR.CO.ID, MAKASSAR — Makassar International Eight Festival and Forum or F8 2024 was closed, Sunday (28/7/2024) night. After being officially opened on 24 July 2024 yesterday.

“See you at F8 2025,” said Makassar Mayor Danny Pomanto in his remarks at the closing ceremony at the Main Stage, Losari Beach Pavilion, Makassar.

He said F8 will still be held in the years to come. Even though he is no longer mayor.

“I believe F8 will never end,” he said.

The two-term mayor of Makassar said that during the seven times it was held, F8 became a place for expression. Especially for the children of Makassar.

“Hopefully we can still sing, we can still dance. This is a place for creative minds to collaborate,” he said.

Meanwhile, F8 President Director Sofyan Setiawan said that the number of visitors to F8 this year is estimated to be more than the previous year.

Up to four days of the show, July 24-27, it was recorded that there were 500 thousand visitors. That number was not yet the fifth or final day,

“The fourth day, thank God, 500 thousand for 4 days. Our target is 400-600 thousand,” he explained.

Then for transactions, during four days in F8 there were Rp4.8 billion transactions using Qris. That does not include cash transactions.

“Qris Rp4.88 billion. This is the highest Qris transaction record during F8,” he added.

In addition, there are Rp3.3 billion in Land and Building Tax (PBB) payment transactions. Then Rp1.18 billion in ticket transactions using Qris.

“We are certainly waiting for the fifth day of transactions. Both government and corporate,” he concluded.
