This meeting will be an opportunity for the Directors General of African news agencies, media experts, and several eminent personalities from the African Atlantic region to examine ways to strengthen African sovereignty through information.
The work of this Assembly will be structured around a panel entitled “African Sovereignty in Action: Perspectives on Information and the Atlantic Facade Initiative”. The emphasis will be placed on this occasion on the role of press agencies in general, and of the FAAPA in particular, in the promotion of informational cooperation at the level of the Atlantic coast, in supporting development initiatives at the level of the Sahelo-Atlantic zone, and in the preservation of the media sovereignty of the countries of the Continent.
The program also includes interactive sessions, debates, and sharing of experiences which will provide an opportunity for participants to review the means by which African press agencies can play a central role in asserting sovereignty. from the continent.
An important conference at the Policy Center for the New South of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University will also be organized as part of this Assembly to discuss the multiple facets of the potential of the African Atlantic, and explore avenues for sustainable development and regional integration at the level of this region.
The 7th General Assembly of the FAAPA will see the presentation of the FAAPA Media Grand Prize 2022 & 2023 (prize for the best article, the best video report and the best photo) and the signing of cooperation and partnership agreements between certain agencies press members of the Federation.
